HONORING ACHIEVEMENTS

Hard work, dedication, and the willingness to learn are the keys to success. Sunward Park High School honored the achievements of learners who have embraced these values in their pursuit of excellence.
On January 21, 2025, learners were recognized for their outstanding performance in sports, culture (Eisteddfod, Festival of the Arts, Choir), and service (Councillor, Columba, Interact). It was a jubilant occasion for both learners and their parents. Each learner confidently strode across the stage, a proud smile stretching across their face as they received their awards—ranging from a Merit to a Half Colour and a Full Colour.
Parents erupted in celebration, ululating, praising, and clapping for their children’s success—the future of the world.
On January 22, 2025, learners were honored for their prestigious achievements in academics. The brilliant minds received the same respective awards, which they accepted with joy—meant to be worn with pride.
These awards, adorning the students’ blazers, tell a story of their talents and gifts in various fields. They set individuals apart and make them an inspiration. In addition, the star award of the evening was given to five deserving learners, distinguishing them not just as inspirations but as dreams realized.
“I honestly didn’t think I would get it. It feels so surreal,” said Lwandle Ndlovu, one of the five White Blazer recipients. It truly seems impossible—until it is done.
These learners were selected based on strict criteria: a Full Colour in academics, as well as a Full Colour and a Half Colour in any two extracurriculars. Notably, both honors evenings are essential to earning the highly coveted White Blazer—the Principal’s Award, the highest recognition.

The good news is that anyone can earn a Merit, a Half Colour, a Full Colour, or even a White Blazer. Success comes in different forms and can take you to incredible places. Take a chance—YOUR achievements may be celebrated in the future.
